The role of emotional intelligence in coping with difficult life situations

The article is aimed at examining the role of emotional intelligence (EI) in co-operative behaviour a person, analysing and presenting foreign Russian research this area. results empirical are given. sample consisted 243 people aged 18 to 67 years (61 men 182 women, average age – 36.1 years), which 107 participants noted that they middle senior managers, 136 respondents employees. study used EIT methodology («Emotional Intelligence Test») questionnaire CISS (Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations). Correlation analysis revealed following correlations: positive between common EI, domains branches EI problem-oriented copying, negative experienced domain with emotionally oriented coping. According regression analysis, cumulative effect four more pronounced when coping chosen, ability understand analyse emotions makes greatest contribution. management team has demonstrated influence others resort often problem-based coping, while non-management better recognises surrounding space.
